Comments on the environment: Left bank (zone 1) and right bank (zone 2) of the Indus. Old bridge (piers and access road) visible as well as the old fortified remains dominating it. The ground is strewn with pottery sherds in the vicinity of the fortified remains. Row of 108 stupas and one stupa built in 2006, mani wall. From Saspol up the Saspol tokpo you can reach Kharu (Shyok valley) via the Lago Pass (5370m). There is also a recent bridge. Many destructions were made during the construction of the road and the enlargement of the village of Alchi.
